My little life

So I’m Justine and I live in the beautiful city of Adelaide, South Australia. I am the grand old age of 38 and so far I have survived all life has thrown at me (and wonder sometimes just how I did)

About 2.5 years ago I made a honest man out of Lindsay and its one of the best decisions I have made in my life. He really is an incredible man, with a beautiful soul and he’s made me a better person for knowing him. I am pretty high maintenance so I hear him referred to quite regularly as ‘poor Lindsay’. But I constantly remind him that the best things in life are the hardest!!! ha ha ha.

We have been blessed with our beautiful daughter, Acacia , but I call her monkey most of the time because she is very cheeky and so so funny. She is 2 1/2 and so far (fingers crossed) not so terrible.

And me??? *sigh* I am really complicated. I am pretty much a bundle of contradictions. I worry way too much about what people think. I live in a body I despise. But this is what I pretend : that I have an amazing body – long legs, perfect boobs, curves in all the right places, not a stretch mark or bit of cellulite. I do this so I can function everyday in this plastic perfection world we live in. And let me make this clear. I am very overweight. I’m not someone that has to lose 20 kg …………..its more like 100kg so I tend to have zero tolerance for anyone whom complains about being ‘fat’ and still wears a size 10.
I used to be a rock chick. Yep. A ROCK CHICK. I’m lucky ’cause I can sing. I was in a 80′s cover band for about 4 yrs called the Lazy Susan’s and I can honestly say it was the best time of my life.
Here ya go …. check out the rock chick look circa 1996

I learned a lot about life and love. I really miss it. I miss it terribly.
I love being creative and although I still feel its a bit daggy my greatest love of creativity is scrapbooking. I will blog more about this and show some stuff I have made so won’t ruin it all here. I also love decorating and once wanted to be an interior decorator so I love decorating my house and being creative. Never underestimate how much difference a couple of new cushions can make!!!
I guess the other really big part of me as a person is my love of animals. We currently have 5 ( 2 dogs and 3 cats) Needless to say our daughter Acacia will never be short of ‘furry siblings’ If I could possible save every single stray / injured animal in the world I would. Animal cruelty makes me physically sick and its one area of my life I want to make more of an impact on so this might be the avenue. I lost my first love ‘Tosca’ last year at the ripe old age of 17.
She was there for me through thick and thin and at times she was my sole confidant and she NEVER let me down. I miss her more than words can say. She was a beauty inside and out xxxxxxx

Our Monkey

Trust me ……..she is a monkey………so so cheeky and does not miss a trick!!! She was 6 yrs in the making – no IVF – we thought if it was meant to be it would happen – then all of a sudden it did.
I never knew just how enriched our life would become. And that I would look permanently tired for the rest of my life!!! We feel so lucky to have her & due to some complications after her birth, we are counting our blessings and not having anymore : (
I’m sure your going to read many rants from me about raising an only child!!!

Introducing ‘poor Lindsay’

I could give you all of the cliques (insert thingy above the e) ………..love of my life…..my best friend………and he is, but more than
that…. he is my truth. He is always there for me and I trust him with everything. As someone with BIG trust issues this says a lot…. trust me HAHAHAA. And most of all, he is the most amazing father to monkey…. just amazing. He is also extremely personal so you won’t read anything too interesting about him on here. Thats my respect to him as it’s my choice to blog – not his.
